Judge Orders Release of up to 1,700 Illegal Immigrant Families in Texas

From Breitbart News

A California court ruling could set free more than 1,700 women and children who are being held by the Department of Homeland Security in facilities in the town of Dilley and Karnes County, Texas. As of Monday, immigration judges were getting the word out to release these families, as part of a court decision in California that struck down the Obama administrations policy regarding the handling of Central American illegal immigrant families and unaccompanied minors. Immigration Up, Wages Down?

A new report from the non-partisan Congressional Research Service suggests that high levels of immigration could be having a negative impact on the wages earned by American workers.

According to the report, which was requested by the Senate Judiciary Committee, the foreign-born population in the United States increased by 325% from 1970 to 2013. During that same 43-year period, tax data indicate the income of the bottom 90% of Americans fell 8%, while at the same time the share of income held by the bottom 90% of Americans fell by 16 percentage points.

Currently, the U.S. admits one million legal immigrants each year, plus 700,000 guest workers, 500,000 foreign students and 70,000 refugees. Meanwhile, many families have yet to recover from the Great Recession and the economy remains relatively weak.

Adding insult to injury, we know current immigration policies are costing some American workers their jobs. Not surprisingly, a January Gallup survey found that 60% of Americans were dissatisfied with current levels of immigration. By a nearly 3-to-1 margin, frustrated Americans said we should decrease immigration levels.

TED CRUZ on Obama’s Executive Amnesty!!!

cruz

Senator Ted Cruz just made the shocking claim that the Obama Administration is engaged in counterfeiting by printing work authorization immigration documents.

On the heels of the dramatic judicial halt of Obama’s executive amnesty, Sen. Cruz boiled it all down on Fox News and made an explosive charge about what the administration has been doing:

“One of the things it points out is the president has claimed, rather absurdly, that the basis of his authority is ‘prosecutorial discretion.’ That he’s simply choosing not to prosecute 4.5 million people here illegally,” Cruz told Fox News. “But what the district court concluded, quite rightly, is they’re doing far more than that. The administration is printing work authorizations. It is affirmatively acting in contravention of federal law. Basically, what it’s doing is counterfeiting immigration documents, because the work authorizations it’s printing are directly contrary to the text of federal law. It is dangerous when the president ignores federal law.”

GOP Immigration Bill Calls for Removal of Border Fence

The new border bills drafted by Republican leaders require the actual removal of at least 66 miles of anti-pedestrian border fencing between laborers in Mexico and employers in the United States.

The border bills also require the construction of only 27 miles of effective double-layer fencing along the 2,000-mile border.

“It is a remarkable that the direction of our progress is going backwards, from a goal of building 700 miles of double-layer border fencing [in 2006] to only 27 miles [in 2015],” said a Hill staffer who opposes the leaders’ bills.  Extra fencing would be a waste of money, according to Texas Rep. Michael McCaul, chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security.  Continue reading here…

Grassroots Proposal for Immigration Reform 2015

Grassroots Proposal for Immigration Enforcement/Border Security Interstate Compacts

This is Texas Liberty Grassroots email to approximately 300 activists across the State of Texas. If you agree with the material provided, please distribute through your individual email lists, social media, and websites.

A lot has happened since the grassroots developed and pushed the Texas Border Crisis Plan. We have seen the DPS surge to the RGV border (currently being scaled back). We have seen the Texas National Guard sent to the border (also scaled back and due to end next month). We have seen Obama’s executive actions grant amnesty to millions of illegals. We have seen Congress fail to stop or even slow down illegal migration across our border. What we have not yet seen is ANY significant action by the Texas State Legislature to address the ongoing border invasion.

Consequently, the grassroots is offering our elected “leaders” yet another solution to address this problem. The Clear Lake Tea Party (CLTP) in close association with Grassroots America – We the People (GAWTP) and Texans for Immigration Reduction and Enforcement (TFIRE) have developed a high level white paper that outlines a state-led solution regarding immigration issues via “Interstate Compacts.”

Highlights of the attached document are as follows: (Read Complete Immigration Proposal Here)

1. Interstate compacts are constitutional with approximately 200 currently in effect today.
2. Interstate compacts that encroach upon the constitutional authority of the federal government requires Congressional approval.
3. A Republican Congress would be required to approve an interstate compact addressing immigration by a simple majority of both chambers. This means no filibuster allowed and excludes the President from the process. In other words, a Republican Congress can go around Obama and let the states solve the problems.
4. Once Congress approves an interstate compact, it becomes “federal law” and is supreme over existing federal law and regulations.
5.Congress cannot revoke its approval once given.

Consequently, the grassroots have found a way to utilize a common constitutional tool to break through the partisan gridlock of divided federal government. All that is required is for Republican lawmakers to act. If you agree with this approach, please forward this document to all your Texas friends, all your friends in other States, local media (letters to the editor, press releases, etc.) and to every Republican politician you can think of. Texas and the other states must lead. We can no longer sit by and watch our supposed allies and representatives throw down their weapons (power of the purse, impeachment, etc.) and tell us they are really trying to defeat the liberal left’s agenda.

JoAnn Fleming and Larry Korkmas have sent this document to some of our leading political leaders in Texas and national conservative organizations and think tanks over the last week. It is time for the grassroots to rise up and demand action.

TEXAS BORDER CRISIS ACTION PLAN PHASE I
As you know, developing the TX Border Crisis Action Plan(Read key points here)was the first phase of the grassroots forcing our State government to pay real attention to the ongoing border crisis on our southern border. In Phase 1, we articulated a plan of action for our State government to follow as a guide and as a starting point in the debate as to what are the solutions needed to secure our border and mitigate the damage that has already been done to Texas (it is estimated by FAIR that Texas will spend an additional $78 M in additional spending this year alone because of UACs).

PHASE II OF TEXAS BORDER CRISIS PLAN

TX Grassroots TEA Party Action Plan – Secure the Border: “Power of 5” …
Do you have 5 friends or family members who believe as you do about the open, unsecured border? Do they each have 5 friends or family members who will call elected officials if you give them the information? If so, then you have an influential block of 31 people (including yourself). If everyone will be responsible for his or her own calls + five more people, we CAN save Texas! We the People must make our voices heard.

TEXAS GRASSROOTS BORDER ACTION PLAN

A Plan to Secure the Border with Mexico and Protect the Health, Safety, and Economy of the State of Texas (Co-authored by JoAnn Fleming, GAWTP and Dale Huls, Clear Lake TEA Party). This has been submitted to the Governor asking that he call a Special Session on this crisis.

It is a fairly lengthy read. It spells out exactly what the Federal and State Constitutions require in response to a border Invasion. It explains in plain language, why this Border Invasion is now a State responsibility, and how we should deal with it. It also details the scope and dangers of the invasion and why it is a crisis from security and financial perspectives. When you have read it you can make a judgment regarding support.

GOP: Border patrol agents handcuffed by wildlife rules

Federal land protections are hampering efforts to stop the flow of illegal immigrants across the border, Republicans say.

The Interior Department controls about 800 miles along the dividing line with Mexico, or about 40 percent of the total, with other land in the region owned by the Forest Service.

GOP lawmakers argue federal regulations intended to protect land and wildlife have become an obstacle for Customs and Borders Protection officers because they restrict their ability to drive near the border, build infrastructure or install surveillance technology.  READ MORE…
